Box Wedge Firewood Order Form

Please complete all fields below to submit your order for firewood. Our office will contact you within 5 business days to schedule delivery. Delivery of firewood will typically occur within 1-2 weeks of your order date.

-All hardwood is maple/ash/oak mix of processed by the 3.5” x 4.5” box wedge and cut to an average of 16". NO CHANGES

-Our Firewood is NOT manually hand loaded from the pile. By submitting a firewood order, you acknowledge understanding of our manufacturing process: All firewood is run through a 1.5” tumbler prior to delivery which removes most of the fines. Meaning pieces are between 1.5” and 4” by the manufacturing process. If you would like to see the tumbler in action click here. This tumbler device is highly effective at taking most of the fines out, HOWEVER it can not remove any piece larger than 1.5"- even if it is an irregular shape. Pieces between 1.5" and 2.5" should be used as kindling (which you will need to start fires) and are accounted for in the volume of our cords (we bring a bit extra to account for the kindling)

- Split your own wood chunks are byproducts of our wood processors and orders are fulfilled as they come off our processor, in the order in which we receive. The chunks require a hydraulic splitter to split. Reasons for ejection from processor include but not limited to: A dimension larger than 16", a diagonal end cut, a knob or knot, irregular shape. In reality for short money this is GREAT value for the DIY customer.

- Hardwood is aged outdoors after culling. Moisture content will vary depending on weather conditions, proximity to sunlight, and species of hardwood. ***When it rains, and for a few days after, the firewood will appear wet***

We can’t recommend enough to procure your firewood early

Terms and Conditions OF YOUR FIREWOOD PURCHASE (Consider this is legally binding).

Our Firewood is NOT manually hand loaded from the pile and is NOT dried in a kiln. By submitting a firewood order, you acknowledge understanding of our manufacturing process, the definition of “seasoned”, and product description below. When you accept delivery through our automated system at 339-675-2215, you agree to accept the delivery and to be bound by all terms and conditions outlined in the contract below.

A - SIZE OF PIECES: All firewood is processed through the 4.5" x 3.5" box wedge as pictured on our order form. These pieces are truly a nice size and represent the majority of the product you will receive. We believe Box Wedge wood is the best in the business and have invested a tremendous amount of capital in infrastructure to produce this square product. However, a log is round and the box wedge is square, thus it is physically IMPOSSIBLE for every piece to be a square. The derivative of running firewood through a box wedge is that the log is intercepted by 16 knives. When passing through the knives, the edge of the log cross section (the round part of the edge) which does not fill a full box, cuts pieces in the cross section that are smaller than a normal 4.5" x 3.5" piece of firewood. These smaller pieces are often described as slivers or cookies.

B - TWICE TUMBLED GUARANTEE: All firewood is run through a 1.5" tumbler both during processing then a second time prior to delivery which removes most of the fines, slivers, and cookies. Meaning pieces are between 1.5" and 4" IN CROSS SECTION by the manufacturing process. If you would like to see the tumbler in action click this link – https://www.youtube.com/shorts/k14RHzdk5HM. This tumbler device is highly effective at taking most of the fines out, HOWEVER it can only remove pieces SMALLER than 1.5" – even if a 2" piece is an irregular shape – it can not physically take it out. Pieces between 1.5" and 2.5" should be used as kindling (which you will need to start fires) and are accounted for in the volume of our cords (we bring a bit extra to account for the kindling).

C - DEFINITION OF SEASONED WOOD: A “Season” is a unit of time. “Seasoned Firewood” means firewood which was processed and stored in/for a season (for the purpose of drying). A season in the firewood business: the tree was harvested in the prior year and turned into a log, processed and stored in our yard for one season, then sold to the customer in the fall. We stay one year ahead. This in no way guarantees, implies, constitutes any warranty, nor specifies any specific level of dryness. That is universal across all firewood suppliers. IF you require a specificity behind the moisture you must buy Kiln Dried wood where the drying process occurs in a controlled environment (a kiln) and the wood is removed from the kiln when a certain moisture content is reached. For "seasoned wood” (wood stored for one season for drying) we recommend you purchase as early as possible and stack exposed to direct sunlight. Exposure to the ultraviolet radiation from the sun makes an extensive difference in the dryness of the wood. Unfortunately storing our wood in a big pile is the only logistically possible method and not all of the wood experiences the same level of UV radiation through the season. Thus some pieces are drier than others. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to note that maple and ash (the white pieces) dry MUCH faster than Oak (the red pieces) and as such we recommend you stack your firewood in such a way that you ALWAYS BURN WHITE PIECES FIRST.

D - FIREWOOD LENGTH INFORMATION: Firewood is cut to 16" by a laser on the processing machine, HOWEVER logs are not exact increments of 16". Meaning a 13' log = 156". That would make 9.75 16" pieces, better described as nine 16" pieces and one 9" end cut. These shorter end cuts burn just the same and are included along with the standard sized pieces in your cord. Please also note that if the operator brought a log to the saw which was crooked, the laser can measure incorrectly and a piece longer than 16" could be included.

E - VOLUME GUARANTEE: Our trailers are custom built and sized at 176 cubic feet per loose cord which is a cord and change stacked (change to account kindling and cookies). Dumped in your driveway, it comes out of the trailer in a thousand+ individual pieces. As such firewood is a non-refundable product. Once you take possession of the firewood – it is yours. We will not, under any circumstances, accept returns, exchanges, or take back any portion of the firewood, regardless of reason or condition. Please be certain of your order before scheduling delivery.

F - FIREWOOD IS NOT HAND LOADED: Firewood is loaded into the tumbler screening plant by articulated wheel loader, through the tumbler, and into trailer via conveyor system. This process is highly automated, and we sell approximately 3,500 cords of wood annually. At approximately 1100 pieces per cord this calculates to 3.85 million pieces of firewood passing through our yard per annum. Due to the volume and efficiency required to maintain this level of operation, we do not individually inspect or hand-select each piece of firewood. While customers may examine each piece during stacking, we cannot and do not guarantee that every piece will meet any specific size, shape, dryness, length, or such specification. As such, we offer no warranty, express or implied, regarding the condition, performance, or suitability of individual pieces. All firewood is sold "as is," and by purchasing, the customer acknowledges and accepts all inherent variations typical of a natural product.

G - PIECES AT BOTTOM OF PILE: Occasionally you will receive a piece of wood which was sitting at the bottom of the pile and will have some dirt on it (appear black). After being stacked for a short period that piece will be as dry and burnable as the remainder of the firewood in the load. We believe with the double tumbling listed in item B – we have some of the cleanest firewood in the business.

H - FAILURE TO PAY: Failure to pay upon delivery will result in a $60 fee in addition to a 1% monthly finance charge on the outstanding balance until payment is received in full. Returned checks due to insufficient funds will incur an additional $35 fee. Payment must be resolved within 7 days to avoid suspension of future deliveries or services, and repeat offenses may require future payments to be made by cash or certified funds only. Nonpayment after 30 days will result in a collections claim.
